Potomac Valley Skiers (PVS) celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2005. PVS has deliberately chosen to remain small in size so that it can continue to hold monthly meetings and some other events in members' homes. However, it consists of skiers (of all levels) who enable the club to sponsor 4 or 5 ski trips a year to the Rockies, Europe, and occasionally South America. PVS ski trips usually involve lodging in hotels (often in ski-in/ski-out locations), two or three group dinners, happy hours, pre/post trip parties, and optional post-trip sightseeing for foreign destinations. In fact, PVS trips include so many activities (both on and off-slopes) that some nonskiing spouses even choose to come along on trips. In addition, PVS offers a full schedule of local activities including monthly meetings, gourmet dinners, theatrical events, and hikes,.
